In its Nintendo Direct presentation on Thursday, Nintendo gave a brief preview of new Animal Crossing: New Horizons content that would be revealed later. It's one of the most highly anticipated 2.0 updates for New Horizons, as it includes a key character that fans have been begging Nintendo to include — such as Brewster and his cafe, The Roost.

Nintendo has stated that Brewster and The Roost will be released in November, with additional information to be revealed during a full New Horizons broadcast to be broadcast in October. The company only showed a brief clip during Thursday's presentation: a sign in the museum indicating that Brewster's cafe will be opening shortly afterward.

The new content for New Horizons may be the first significant update to the adorable life-simulation game since March 2021, when Nintendo introduced the Custom Design Pro Editor Plus feature, as well as a slew of new Sanrio-themed characters and items, as well as the ability to fart in the game. To keep Animal Crossing fans entertained since then, Nintendo has largely relied on annual holiday events, limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping, and bug fixes to keep the game alive.

In July, Nintendo acknowledged a lack of content in New Horizons, promising more free content to be released sometime in 2021 to make up for it.
